史明（本名施朝暉，1918-2019）是台灣獨立運動的先驅，是實踐與思想並重的哲學家，是一生反抗殖民統治的革命者。他的著作《台灣人四百年史》奠立台灣民族主義的論述基礎，他的百歲人生則見證了台灣從黨外到民主的轉型歷程。

史明逝世後留下大量手稿、相片、影像與文物猶待整理，史明教育基金會與國立政治大學、國家電影中心等單位形成合作平台，進行史料文物的整理、保存、數位化及推廣工作；另一方面則將新莊故居修繕、整建為史明文物館,保留史明這位革命者的生命歷程，忠實呈現台灣歷史上罕有左翼、台灣民族主義、獨立建國的關鍵面向。

Su Beng (originally named Shih Chao-Hui, 1918-2019) was a pioneer of Taiwan’s independent movement, as well as a philosopher that endeavored in both thinking and practice. He was a revolutionary that rebelled against colonial rule throughout his life. His book Taiwan’s 400 Year History laid down the foundation of the treatise on Taiwan nationalism. His life span of a hundred years witnessed the transitional process of Taiwan – from outside the party to democracy.

Su Beng left us with plenty of manuscripts, photographs, images, relics, and more, waiting to be sorted out. The Su Beng Education Foundation, National Chengchi University, and Taiwan Film Institute collaborated to form a platform that endeavors to sort out, preserve, digitalize, and promote these historic materials and relics. In addition, it has also engaged in the refurbishment of Su Beng’s home at Xinzhuang to transform it into a historic museum to preserve the revolutionary’s life story and present the extraordinary left wing in Taiwan’s history, Taiwan nationalism, and the keys to the independence of Taiwan.
